Chips and salsa ok, nothing special. Lunch specials are reasonably priced. I went for the Refujios, the ideal Tex-Mex combo of two cheese enchiladas, one beef crispy taco, rice and beans--$5.99 as of this writing. That's a good deal. Taco came with meal (altho on separate plate), unlike other joints. Taco was just ok, factory shell, decent taste but nothing memorable. Enchilada plate looked good (they avoided the all too common glop effect that I have experienced at other places recently), but was atomic hot, like I have experienced at several other places recently. Absolutely inedible for several minutes. The sauce and beans were bubbling around the edges of the plate.
When I finally was able to stand the heat, the beans and rice turned out to be the highlights of the plate. Not that they were that great (but they were better than the usual sides I've experienced lately), it's just that the enchiladas were bad. I did not finish them. The chili gravy was pretty good on its own, so it was either the tortilla or the cheese. Cheese was cheddar instead of the usual processed stuff, which made the enchiladas stringy instead of creamy. I prefer creamy. No onions present even though I specifically asked for them. So not sure what the specific problem with the enchiladas was, but they just didn't taste good to me.
No reason to go back.

It's no Matt's, but it's a good meal. No more or less pricey or tasty than many other tex-mex joints. Good place to get your fill of Mexican food if you're in the area, but I wouldn't drive half an hour to come here.
