Not so good

This place unfortunately can't hold a candle to the other eco-burger place, Elevation Burger. First off, the physical structure is kind of wheels off--no inside seating, there's drive-through or walk-up only. There is a substantial outdoor seating area though, as well as a playscape and a water feature the kids can run through. As I idled in the drive-through line for several minutes, inching my way towards the ordering station and then the first payment window, I couldn't help but think how the carbon offset-chewing emissions from my vehicle were negating the reputed benefits of the EcoMeal I was about to receive.

Pricey: basic burger with cheese is $6.45. Add 50¢ for a cup of water. But it's a CornCup at least! Total with fries was $9.63! A bit outrageous for a cheeseburger+fries+water. The burger is larger than the one at Elevation, but I can get a big enough cheeseburger, with cheddar, and fries and water for $7.00 there, and it tastes better.

Fries: soggy, tasted ok, but were very limp and a tad greasy.

Burger: taste not so great. Burger patty is larger than the regular Cheeseburger at Elevation, but was very dry and was really too thick to not be properly cooked with some juice remaining. You can get by with thin and dry (see Mighty Fine), but when you hit a thicker burger, you absolutely must have some juciness left. I left a portion of the burger just didn't taste very good to me.

Worth a Try

I can't speak for this TerraBurger specifically, this is my stance on the entire chain.
It's a noble effort, but it's not for everyone. Some people swear by their barbeque burgers, others thing everything tastes soggy. It's a hung jury. It's a little on the pricey side, but it you're looking for a way to make your eating habits more green, its a good choice.
Like I said- it's worth a try.

I love this place. It does need some more cover to eat in. It is hot already and if you do not have shorts on it is brutal eating outside when it is busy.

Well.. we start off with the slow service and the High Price -- $9.16 for a burger and fries no drink.

Lettuce and veggies on the wrong side of the sweet bun.
You have to flip it over to make it taste right.

Plenty of fresh raw onions. I ordered mine minus the mayo -- but after tasting how dry the meat patty is I regretted that choice.

Very dry meat patty.

Fries good but cut short. They seem like fresh cut fries but cut in the wrong direction -- most people like long fries not short fries.

Great! All the critics suck

I have eaten at Terraburger several times now and the burgers are delicious, fries were great, and drinks were fine. Being that they are on the cutting edge people are trying to knock them. I see nothing to complain about. Check it out. ALl the professional critics like Rob Baylon only have good things to say. Give them a try oyu will like it@

I would have to agree with Chris about the burger. I went to the location on the Drag, and I wanted this place to be good, but I was very disappointed. The burgers were extremely bland. There was no seasoning on the meat, so all you tasted was the bun. Fries were medicore as well, kind of limp. Might as well go next door to Slices and Ices or Madam Mam's...

Have to agree with Reviewer - Overpriced food

183 location...and a first time experience after hearing a lot of hype about the place......

Have to agree with the staff reviewer.....a bit too pricey for a burger and fries....yesterday had lunch there....over $20 for a couple burgers and fries, black tea and a water....geez....keep the locations in Westlake for those folks. And the food was nothing to write home about...except for the sweet potato fries. The burger was pretty much tasteless and the regular fries were just that...regular.

For those with glowing comments - their the ones with some kind of agenda it seems.... and apparently have more money to spend on lunch than sense it seems. And by the way, since when is eating a burger and fries suppose to be a healthy thing anyway, just the notion of making it a healthy premise goes to show you some people will buy off on anything....but as alway, it takes all kinds in this old world.

Not having a walk-in area to offset our Texas heat (and those occasional rainy days) is a pretty lame aspect, plus having to place your order (that seemed to take forever) right next to a drive-thru area with car exhaust fumes hanging in the air is downright poor planning of the the layout, not to mention the limited parking at the place. Bottom line - average food over priced......but it's your money if you want to give it away.

We went there to grab lunch for a family for four. We sat at the window a full 20 minutes before they got our order to us. No apologies, no offer of free drinks since we were sitting there in 100 degree heat. Just "sorry that took so long".

So, we take out almost $40 worth of burgers and fries home...

Fries are soggy and limp. The buger is extremely bland. There is NO flavor in the beef at all. It tastes like cardboard. Organic does not have to mean boring and for that price I want to enjoy what I am eating.

I will not be going back.

You "anonymous" blogger are an idiot. You must be someone who has an agenda. I eat a TerraBurger at least 3 times a week because I know whats up. Try watchin Food Inc. I watched it at the Arbor Cinema, then went over to TerraBurger and asked. You have obviously never even been there. The buns are baked DAILY by a wonderful place in Austin called Sweetish Hill Bakery. The tomatoes as well as ALL of their produce is organic. Which I commend them on because no one else does that. Not even elevation burger who uses the same pesticide covered produce as mcdonalds. And, even their CONDIMENTS are organic. They worked really hard to get this stuff. Too hard for an idiot like you with whatever agenda you have to make up such stupid lies.

Been there twice

I've been to TerraBurger twice now. I've had a pleasant experience both times, and may make my TB a weekly ritual. My only quip with them is the iceberg lettuce on the burger, but that's pretty much standard across the board. Their produce is 100% organic as well as the meat. With this I am very pleased. Their buns are fresh baked daily and taste great... I prefer the wheat. Their fries taste great, I love the sweet potato fries, but it would seem their is a wide opinion on those. One huge advantage to TerraBurger over the other guys is that it is all organic and there are no artificial ingredients in anything. Mighty Fine is conventional, and Elevation only has organic meat and dairy, and if you've done your research...

... you will notice that has little bearing in decreasing your toxicity in terms of pesticides, herbicides, and other chemical.

I would highly recommend the Hill Country with fries, again my preference is the sweet. The shakes are great too! Overall, I'm happy with TerraBurger. I'll continue to support them in their quest to make an eco-friendly option available, and I hope you do as well.

not impressed. Train jumpers. Calling a place Terra Burger, does not a yummy organic burger place make.
Sadly the name Terra Burger and the GIGANTIC sign proclaiming Organic Burgers sets you up with rather high expectations. Expectations that go un met.
No mixed greens, no organic freshly baked buns, no organic tomatoes, red onions (tastes better than white) or fresh non toxic condiments.

This is Organic Kool-aide made with Nutra-sweet. Sounds good for you but it's still crap, just dressed in a pretty package.. Don't drink the Kool-aide.
